Born in Daet, Camarines Norte, the Philippines, photographer and aspiring photojournalist Jasper L. Llanderal has been working with social development organizations in the Philippines prior to working with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in June 2005. Prior to his engagement with IOM, Jasper L. Llanderal worked with marginalized communities in various parts of the country facilitating community organizing, agrarian reform, watershed management, institution and capacity building and peace and development programs. His stint with these various programs accorded him the opportunity to travel to different parts of the county as well as presented him a varied array of subjects for his passion – - Photography.
His photographic work has been published in Annual Reports, newsletters and calendar of the Philippine Business for Social Progress, a corporate-led, non-profit, social development foundation, and the International Organization for Migration Mission in Zimbabwe. He did commercial work for the Pryce Corporation, the Oro Integrated Cooperative and the Office of the Regional State Prosecutor-Region X, in Cagayan de Oro. Jasper L. Llanderal has also covered events and festivals in Mindanao together with other Mindanao-based photographers and photojournalists.
